Acquisition training for students

Students from associations often have little experience in attracting speakers and money. In just under three hours, I teach the board and committees the tools to attract more money and bigger speakers. Give the acquisition committee a boost. Teach the conference committee how to attract speakers. Make sure that recruiters spend more budget on your association.

The training received an 8.8 out of 10 in an anonymous survey among participants at the University of Eindhoven .

During my student days, I organized several seminars and congresses as a board member of the study association STAR (6500 members). I also organized seminars for the Erasmus University in Rotterdam for many years. In both organizations, I was involved in the acquisition of speakers and funds. In 2010, a professor in Maastricht asked me to explain to his students how we achieve an annual turnover of 1,600,000 euros and world-famous speakers in Rotterdam. The progress his students made was enormous. Since then, several associations have asked me to give a workshop every year to get more out of their group of students. They easily recoup the costs. A number of the study associations where I have been allowed to give training courses in recent years:

Learning experience Top. Knowledge retention? Flop.

In a study association, committees usually get down to work in a very practical way. The committee members often have little to no experience. It is often only at the end of the board and committee period that students really understand how to bring in money and speakers. And then they leave. Result? Knowledge evaporates, and the next committee has to start all over again. What a waste!

About the training for study associations

During the training two topics will be discussed:

1. Recruit speakers

CEOs of Unilever, Shell and KPN, among others, found their way to my seminars, as well as successful entrepreneurs such as Marlies Dekkers , Michiel Muller (Route Mobiel / Picnic) and Peer Swinkels (Bavaria). I also convinced Prime Ministers Jan-Peter Balkenende and the late Ruud Lubbers and, among others, the former President of Mongolia and Mozambique to give a lecture. They all came free of charge. You will be amazed at how easy it is if you know how to tackle this. How?! For example, by presenting an award. Stroke the ego and people will get moving. There are many other ways. I will discuss them all during the workshop.

2. Raising Funds

Inexperienced students negotiate with experienced recruiters. I regularly hear that students haggle over a few tens of euros. Unfortunately, the student is not aware of his or her position. The difference between a good and a bad trainee in a talent program can make a difference of millions of euros. What is a few tens of euros? An example? Think of a Unilever trainee who just manages to negotiate a 10 cent discount per smoked sausage. At an Albert Heijn, tens of millions are sold every year. Calculate your profit!

Not money, but value, quality and talent is what needs to be negotiated. Do you ever wonder what the costs would be if a recruiter had to organize such a recruitment event himself? The location, the parking spaces, the technology, the promotion and especially the working hours cost tens of thousands of euros. For recruiters, events at study associations are subsidized events. The budgets of recruiters are nowadays adjusted to your volunteer model.

Unique and exclusive

I have been giving training courses for study associations and student associations for over 12 years. In fact, I have been asked back by various associations for ten years in a row. That is because ‘it works’. My training is unique, applicable to every study program, useful for large and small committees and it fits seamlessly with the needs of your association. I gain my knowledge from years of experience, my traineeship at Unilever and my experiences as an entrepreneur. Do you want to be known as the person who took your association to the next level? Contact me . Feel free to call me and you will notice that I really understand what you are doing.
